Jordan and Melissa

You really couldn't find a greater couple if you tried. I've known these two for a long time, so I was honored to do their pictures. Despite the chilly winter weather, they were great sports, and we had a great time on all of the shoots.

Kadie & Jason

These are two very patient people. They're high school sweethearts, he went on a mission, and he's in the military. His military training postponed their wedding several times until he finally got some leave. Only enough, though, to get married and go on a honeymoon. He's back in training and she's not allowed to be with him permanently for a couple months. They are both really positive about it all, however, and that made this wedding day pretty fun.

The Dazzling Lewis Family

This is a family with everything to brag about, but with the utmost humility at the same time. I've known the Lewis' for years and was honored to take their picture. Note: Perfect smiles all around. Father Lewis is a dentist, which I'm sure has contributed to that.

Abbie and Keven

This is actually two shoots on two days. The weather in Salt Lake was horrid during the first one, but we escaped the city and went to where it's always beautiful...Wendover. The timing was perfect. Keven is a hot rod man, so we had to feature the ride in a few shots to really capture the personality of this couple. Kev's only wish was getting a picture of Abbie doing a burnout (not pictured below because it's just a hazy cloud of smoke) in the truck. She passed the test with flying colors.

Tristan

I myself am a procrastinator when it comes to many a thing in life. This blog being one of them. Tristan, however, is going to be just fine in life. She got a good jump on getting her graduation pictures done. We did this shoot a month or so ago. I think my favorite part was heading into downtown Midvale where Vincent Drug from The Sandlot is and we got all sorts of looks. It was my first time shooting there, but I just may go back. Here are the shots we came up with:

Jaycee

I have been doing dance studio photos for a few years now, but it is always fun when dancers want to mix it up. I was excited when Jaycee's mom called me to set up an outdoor shoot. You probably can't tell that it was -35 degrees when we took these pictures. Jaycee was a good sport and we had a really good time.

Miranda's Bridals

Little did we know that when we went up to take these pictures we would be entertained by a drum circle the entire time. Miranda received a standing ovation from these people as she made her way into their view. They played the same beat for an hour straight but seemed to be content. We had a good time shimmying to the beat in between shots.

Rachel's Bridals

I am easily the laziest blogger out there. I get a bit busy and forget about this whole worldwide web thing. It's about time to get this puppy updated with the shoots I've done in the past month and a half or so. Here's a start.

I took these last night and thought they turned out pretty nice. We had to get these done a night before the wedding then rush to get one of them printed in time for the dinner this evening. It was intense, but it went pretty darn well.

Miranda & Kyle

June was not kind to me. With all of the rain, I was forced to postpone a few photo shoots. One of those we've delayed 4 times. We just had some bad luck. July has been good thus far and I'm busy once more.

Miranda and Kyle are about the easiest couple I've shot. I didn't really have to coach or pose these guys much at all because they clearly dig each other. The hardest part was getting them to look at me. I was beginning to think that they didn't even know I was there. We had a good time on our shoot though. Especially when we were dodging cars to get a series of shots in the middle of a busy street and trespassing on Utah Railway territory.

Brooklyn

When I met up with Casey and Shanda they informed me that Brooklyn was ornery because she hadn't taken a nap. She didn't respond to me when I asked her questions, and I thought I was in for a long night of coaxing and bribery to get a smile or two out of this gal. Luckily, some parents have trained their kids to smile the second the camera is pointed in their direction. Little Brooklyn was well trained and warmed up after only a few pictures. She made my job easy and was talking my ear off by the end of the shoot.

Brickhouse Retreat

My friend, Sarah Jane, asked me to do a model shoot for her work a bit ago. The goal was to highlight the makeup, which was done by employees of Brickhouse Retreat Salon and Day Spa in Sandy just south of South Towne mall. There were five models and, therefore, five groups of girls working on hair and makeup. Each group had a different concept and idea influencing their makeup and hair choices. We had a lot of fun doing the shoot, and we were grateful that the rain didn't come down until after we were done.

My sister-in-law wanted some black and white shots of her kids with a black background. I think they turned out really nice and simple. I have found that simplicity goes a long way and makes a photo timeless. Here are a few favorites.

My good friend, Bridger, is working in NYC this spring as an intern for David Letterman. You may recognize him as Alan Kalter's long lost son. I took a trip out to visit him and we couldn't resist a photo shoot. I took nearly 300 pictures, but here are a handful of fun ones.
